I’d personally prefer Osimhen over Delap but the people who argue that Delap isn’t a big enough name or that we shouldn’t be signing players from teams like Ipswich need to either remember or look back at the history of this clubs transfers. Louis Saha and Edwin Van der sar from a middling Fulham team, Gary Pallister from newly promoted Middlesbrough ,a certain Roy Keane from freshly relegated Forrest and my favourite United player ever from 2nd division Oldham, Denis Irwin. Those 5 are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to United signing players from “smaller” clubs who end up contributing massively to success. Any 1 of us could’ve made the signings Woodward did, if we’re ever going to be successful again then the recruitment needs to focus on who can win us games and not who can sell the most shirts or create the most social media hype.
It does my head in every time people agree and then reference the deals United have done 'over the last few years.' This management team has literally been together for 7 or 8 months, so say what you want about the last 2 windows, but anything before last summer is completely irrelevant.
The whole thing about being afraid to pass to Hojlund is so stupid because when they actually do create a chance for him, he tends to score. He missed a couple recently but that's after weeks of not being given chances so he snatched at them.
It would be one thing if he'd been missing loads of chances and the players around him had reason to doubt but it's the opposite. it's the players around him that are the reason he's not scoring because they're not creating chances for him. That's the whole point of having 2 number 10s.
Every time we have these striker signing discussions, all I think is “why did Greenwood have to be a piece of shit?!”. He was set to be our world class striker for a decade or more ffs!
Absolutely agree with Ronnie, we need to know our current place and accept we can't just say 'get Gyokeres or Osimhen!'
Delap could do a good job as a 2nd though, when we get Kane in the summer as well !!🤣🤣🤔🤔🤣🤣

Can Delap do a job for United? 🤔

What makes anyone think our selfish wingers will pass to Delap more than they pass to Hojlund?

Bit of a stretch calling Delap a proven premier league striker😂 I’m all for signing him though
