Manchester United travel to Fulham for the early Saturday kick-off, in a fixture that the Reds won with a last-gasp Garnacho run and finish last season.

How times have changed, it seems United can’t buy a win at the moment, and the re is real pressure on the manager. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to say that if United don’t win tomorrow, Ten hag is likely to lose his job.

United have won 3 of the last 5 Premier League games; Fulham only one. This is certainly a winnable away day for United, but would you put your money on a win given recent performances? Thought not.

A critical game for the manager

There’s no avoiding the noise around Erik ten Hag the man who probably has the most difficult job in world football. Back-to-back 3-0 defeats at Old Trafford have heaped pressure on to both the team and the manager, in what is fast becoming a nightmarish season.

A win wouldn’t even steady the ship, it would just buy time until the next must-win game, a Champions League showdown against Copenhagen on Wednesday.

A good performance would be nice if a little unexpected, but make no mistake about it, United have to find a way to win this game.

Luke Shaw, Amad Diallo, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez are all still absent for the Red Devils on Wednesday. Meanwhile it has been over two months since Jadon Sancho has been excluded from the first team squad. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Varane may be fit to start but Casemiro has picked up another knock and Victor Lindelof is reportedly ill. Kobbie Mainoo has travelled with the squad.

Rashford was poor again on Saunday and McTominay and Dalot had games to forget.

The Outlook – negative

United have either been scraping results recently, or getting beaten soundly. There are issues all over the pitch and off it, and whilst I’d love to be able to predict a resounding victory and convincing performance, I’m just not convinced it will happen tomorrow, unfortunately. I will still back the manager whatever happens tomorrow, and believe Ten hag should be given at least until the end of the season, whatever happens.

PREDICTION

United are goal-shy, playing poorly and leaking goals. Fulham aren’t a great team but on a tight pitch away from home, this could be a real banana skin for the Reds
