I don't think that Lisandro was criticising the players we brought in this summer. Rather, he was criticising the fact we never brought in more players over and above them.
Martinez is 100% correct. We were out spent by teams that have just been promoted and teams that don’t generate half as much as United. We went into the season unprepared without a backup striker without a left back without new centre backs and they expect the squad to compete at the highest level. It’s impossible. The players get the criticism. The managers get sacked but the ones making the decisions get to keep their jobs it’s not right and I’m glad somebody called them out on a global stage.
Martinez didn’t say that on his own back he said what all the other players are talking about behind the scenes. You could see from Tielsmann reaction he didn’t look surprised that was said. I think they’ve elected somebody to say it to back Carrick. That Martinez is likely going at teh end of the season anyway he’s probably why he’s been chosen to say it..That the players are tired of switching managers every 6 months. That the managers are being set up to fail and we’ve seen this since Jose. Get CL football and suddenly the investment stops. There’s zero ambition. We aren’t addressing the right areas of the pitch. And you can’t tell me that’s on Carrick, Amorim, Ten Hag, Ole, this keeps happening.
Martinez Just became a legend for saying that! The players better not alienate him for those comments, they need to stand behind him!

There’s no doubt in my mind that Bruno agrees with Martinez given his body language all season, he should come out and back him…..
No doubt there will be others.

Martinez could be speaking on Carrick's behalf, because Amorim was sacked by Wilcox, for publicly speaking out.
