I don't think Dortmund would let Sancho go on loan without an obligation to buy , there is literally no reason for them to agree to a loan otherwise , one of the best young players and best young wingers in the sport who in a couple years could be in the top 5-7 players in the world. A regular loan without an obligation is just not going to happen. Dortmund would just keep him another season rather than loan him out in that manner. Possibly because United do not like the public perception and headlines to spend such a fortune in the midst of a pandemic with all the negative financial implications . That may be why United would rather agree a loan with an obligation to buy instead of the a permanent deal in the next window. This way the headlines and full extent of the expenditure is hopefully pushed a year down the road where hopefully the financial markets and general global situation are much improved by then.
Ntm there could be accounting / book balancing reasons as well , especially in the current global financial climate ; which would be similar to Mbappe's move to PSG , who had a loan for a similar reason , to keep the Neymar and Mbappe buys in separate fiscal years. Perhaps we agree a substantial initial loan fee which would go towards and chip away at the final transfer fee for JS but unless its a loan with an obligation and pre-agreed payment(s) afterwards it is just not going to happen. Especially since next year quite a few more clubs would be in better financial situations to compete for JS which gives them even less incentive to do a loan without a obligation. The loan with an obligation could work for everyone involved , Dortmund are a financially sound well run club who could do without the fee immediately , United save a bit of face with expenditure and permanent purchase pushed off another year instead of during a pandemic and Dortmund gets their owed money in a year's time for yet another huge profit on a player they got for such a bargain.
First buy Sancho out right for as good a deal as we can. Don’t fuck around trying to nickel and dime them. Just pay what he is worth and build a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund.
Second I would also like us to buy Bellingham now, and offer him to Dortmund on loan for a season or two, where we pay his wages completely as a sweetener. This would also allow him to develop further, get the first team minutes he needs and increase our relationship with Dortmund.
Finally I would get an agreement in place now for Haaland and agree a fee in principle with the club for next summer or the summer after giving us first refusal, should he agree to come to United when he is finally ready to make that next step. I would leave it so the only stumbling block when it comes to that time is convincing Haaland to join and if we continue to progress like we are during that time. I believe there is a really good chance he will come.
I personally believe building a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund is a very sensible idea they seem to be finding world class gems early and having a good relationship with them to take their best talent would be a good strategy for United going forward especially if we can get them to develop some of our talent as well through loans.
Why don't we go for that wonderkid Celtic have I forgot his name but i'm sure a lot of you know who I mean. He played for England and Scotland youth teams.
What about that midfielder from Toulouse Sangoure (spelling?) last summer he was highly touted now they got relegated I haven't heard much about him, he'd be cheap as anything.
