In the Europa League’s revamped format, this will be the only tie between the two teams, and ‘The Reds’ (that is – FC Twente) will be right up for this match, with their away fans sure to create a raucous atmosphere inside Old Trafford.
Despite a frustrating 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at the weekend, United have been in decent form in the last few weeks, and should really have 3 wins out of the last 3 games.
We’ve been creating chances – big chances – but haven’t been putting them away with consistency. Given we have another huge league game this weekend at home to Spurs, you would expect Ten Hag to rotate and rest some key players. Don’t be surprised if the centre-back pairing and entire starting midfield from this weekend is changed.
This looks like a great game to give Manuel Ugarte his full debut and first Old Trafford outing. If that transpires, he will be keenly watched by the Old Trafford faithful after so much hype and expectation around the signing after a couple of good substitute appearances. No pressure then!

Twente sit fourth in the Eredivisie and you can be assured they won’t be resting players for what will comfortably be their biggest away day of the season.
Young Dutch striker Sem Stein has 5 in his last 3 games and netted 17 times last season – he is one to watch out for.
Dutch teams are known for their away support, which is vociferous and, in the past, has tipped over into unsavoury. FC Twente don’t have the reputation of a Feyenoord or an Ajax, but you can bet that the away end will be packed, loud and boisterous. Make no mistake about it, both the team and fans will be right up for this one.
