Manchester United Women return to the Women’s Super League action after the international break to take on Brighton in the Sunday lunchtime kick off.
We will be looking to maintain our 100% unbeaten record. Our opponents are hoping to achieve back to back wins after they clinched a 2-1 win against Reading last time out.
United are one of only three teams in the WSL not to drop any points this season going into this weekend’s fixtures. We have had two great performances at both ends of the pitch as we beat Reading 4-0 in the opening day fixture before securing a 2-0 victory away to West Ham before the international break.
With two consecutive clean sheets under our belt, it leaves us and rivals Arsenal as the only two teams not to concede in the WSL this season.
It was not the case in the League Cup at the beginning of October when we drew 1-1 with Aston Villa. The Red Devils then missed out on achieving a bonus point as we lost on penalties to the West Midlands side.
As we return to the WSL this weekend, United will be confident of getting another win against Brighton after beating the Seagulls in our previous two league games.

Brighton Women’s started the season with a tough 4-0 away defeat to Arsenal. They soon bounced back with a victory against Reading in the second game of the league season.
Lee Geum-min and Katie Robinson were both on the score sheet as they wrapped up a 2-1 win against the Royals that sees them lie seventh in the table.
The Seagulls arrived into this weekend’s game following a 3-2 defeat to Championship side Birmingham City in the League Cup. Brighton have lost their last four away games across all competitions conceding 15 goals, and if they were to achieve a result against United, the defence will have to improve.

For our opponents, they are without the services of Maisie Symonds, Megan Connolly and Rebekah Stott due to injury. Victoria Williams is likely to be in the centre of the defence alongside Kayleigh Green trying to stop the United attack from adding to their six goals from the first two league games.
Lee Geum-min will be providing the attacking threat for the Seagulls as she looks to score in her third consecutive game.

Prediction
United will be brimming with confidence after our start to the league season as we look to finish within top three at the end of the season. Even without Alessia Russo in our attack, the rest of the forward line can fire us to the win.
