He was brought in to do a radicle root and branch overall, which Rangnick said we needed 3 years ago and we all know that what's needed. I am hoping we are 10th ish by Christmas and hopefully top 6 ish by summer but more than that we need to look like we are going in the right direction. If we buy 5/6 players it will need time to bed in. and we have to be patient. it took fergie 7 years to win the premiership and took klopp 4 yrs.
It’s been a tough watch this season, but it does feel that we’ve needed to hit this level of rock bottom to bring about the changes that are desperately needed. I think Erik was caught between the need for instant results and the deep, sweeping philosophical change that we needed.
It feels like Ineos have given Amorim the backing to bring about this kind of change (I hope they don’t buckle now before they’ve given him the chance to bed in his ideas and playing style), being prepared for us to suffer now so that we can succeed in the future.
It might not be next season, but I could definitely see us being much better and more developed in the coming years if we stick with Amorim and his team.
Players and managers can't handle the pressure of United. I think it's as simple as that. Ole finished 3rd and 2nd but was hammered for not winning a trophy. Then ten Hag wins two trophies in his first two season and he's hammered because we finished 8th (with our first choice back 4 being injured for most of the season.) Hojlund is the one with a target on his back at the moment, but it has previously been Antony, Maguire, Rashford, McTominay, Lukaku, etc. The vast majority of them are playing good football at other clubs. Most of these players will be here next season, do we just write that one off as well?

I understood it as Amorim saying that he is aware he will be sacked if the results are the same next season.
