Roy Keane just doesn’t like Bruno and he’s waited for a month and a half to get a game where Bruno didnt get a goal contribution or dig at him again. Ronaldo is analyzing what Keane said like he’s the wisest most article person when frankly he’s not he’s just a footballer and now a bluffer on tv he’s probably not the smartest. Keane wants Bruno to go in on players when that’s the best these players can do it’s not like they’re not trying they’re just not good and Bruno sees that first hand. Also he didn’t keep the same energy for when maguire was captain and playing 100x worse. Do you want Bruno to go in on garancho Kobbie ramsus heaven dorgu amass who are just kids or at an eriksen who can’t run or at dalot who plays every second of every game? Also Bruno has the armband because many other players refused it. English is not his first language, he’s not the loud type that goes in on people and picks up fights that’s never been him and he’s not been at the club for long enough. It’s not his fault we have no decent player that’s always available and that can be more of the captain Keane is talking about
Jay’s piece on Keano was a fucking tonic and said so much of what I’ve wanted to hear on Bruno & United.
It’s fucking shocking at this rate, and Jay’s bang on in everything he said there.
I think we’d be fools if we don’t think each pundit is privy to engagement numbers after each show, and aren’t in some way motivated to drive them up from their input.
Keane going straight back to Bruno despite the perfect response from our captain suggests he/their producers felt it was worth needling again.
(Aaaaand, Jay just mentioned engagement too - so my comment is redundant)
Another huge problem that you guys seem to keep overlooking on the channel is the fact that these youngsters shouldn’t be leading the line week in week out at United and don’t have anywhere near enough older, top professionals who do do that and from whom they can learn from steadily. The top pro’s who our youngsters had to learn from, especially under Ferguson, were ridiculously high level when ya think about it. We’re all Utd fans so I won’t list them but you know who I’m speaking about. It’s another huge problem imo.
I think sometimes we as fans also contribute to the collapse of the team and the manager’s effort and plans. Before Amorim got here when news of his appointment was announced, I remember fans debating over whether or not he should play his system or adjust till the end of the season then revert to his style once he got his players in. Most fan argued angrily that he should play the system he was appointed for or they would chant him out before his era even began and that every good manager plays their systems from day one. We don’t give people room to make their own decisions instead we project out wants and desires on to them and when they take our advice and it goes wrong we turn around and call them weak. Who knows, had he not been influenced before he even got here maybe things would have been different maybe he would have played a different style and got a different outcome. He committed because of our pre chants and now he cannot go back on it because he would look like a fool and a weak manager.
Bruno's so far beyond the rest of the team season to season since he joined. Seldom injured, good for double figures goals and assists. He also gets the club and does right by the staff, or fans whenever he can or he's made aware.
His personality might not be to Keane's liking, but what can you do. If Keane expects Bruno to call out each and every player post match and training - he'd be ostracised given it's like shooting fish in a barrel based on the performances over the past 2 years.
He's the only player worthy of being captain at Utd out of the squad when it was handed to him. There were no other options. Even now, we've only got 2 others (Martinez & De Ligt), one's been injured a hell of a lot of time and the other joined this season - neither will usurp him for the next season or two.

Good news is Bruno’s performances have improved since Roy’s first comments. Bruno started the season in really poor form.

Funnily enough Joe does it in the video but I was categorizing our roster and its embarrassing, I don't think we can blame Amorim at all yet.

Dorgu has been fine. Yoro, Maguire, Heaven, Casemiro and De Ligt have been good. Bruno has been great. The rest of the team has been a mess.
