Guys, Amorim would've preferred Watkins over Sesko, and we even held talks with Aston Villa first, before going to Leipzig and Sesko. The problem is, Watkins IS NOT, and I repeat, IS NOT going to cost less than Sesko. Aston Villa is asking a dumb amount of money for a soon-to-be 30 year old. We know that we need players for the now, but Sesko is the best option overall, for price, and talent. He is the perfect number 9 in a Ruben Amorim system, and I say this being a portuguese, that watched A LOT of Amorim's games before he came to United. If they chose him, then let's back him and the manager. Be patient.
Can we stop with the Watkins is half the price of Šeško thing? That’s very obviously not the case. Villa have asked for £60m and won’t even consider selling him for £40m. Also, Baleba will cost over £100m.
If you don’t want Šeško that’s fine. But at least use legitimate arguments.
I keep hearing things like “we can get Watkins for cheaper” where has anybody read this? Yes Man Utd value him at £45m, but are Villa selling for that? No.
Villa are not selling Watkins for anything less than £65m.
