I think it's not a bad idea for a young CB to get minutes at FB, whichever side.
Gives a bit of a margin or buffer to make a mistake without being carastrophic. It's a good learning opportunity for when they do eventually play CB, understanding the relationship between a CB & a FB in general.
I have only ever been excited about 3 signings we made - Mata, Veron and Di Maria. I was hoping for Falcao to be a success but he was never the same after his major injury.
