I like that there’s been a player’s court set up. This is what senior players are about, leadership when it’s not going right. Those leaders SHOULD be keeping the rest of the squad in check. You can see the esteem that the likes of Roy Keane are held in. Fantastic footballer, but it was standards, standards, standards for that whole period of the club. I’m sure that Ruben Amorim gets no pleasure from having to be the headmaster. Hopefully the senior pros will save the coach from having to put so much energy into that in the coming season(s). He’s been building a house from the ground up, doing all the necessary stuff, but what he really wants to be doing is the last bits he is good at. Hopefully from here, he can concentrate on that.
