Ive got a good Roy Keane story. It was the day Eric scored that banger in 93 against arsenal. I spotted keane walking to the entrance to the stadium at back of Stretford end and asked for autograph he said yes. There was a crowd around us and were pushing us both. He snarled at them and said im signing this lads autograph book. Looked at me and winked. Legend :)
He nearly caused a civil war in Ireland at the time. 😂 there's a great video on YouTube of two lads on prime time wanting a referendum to let Roy back to play with Ireland. Mad times
I always felt as though we'd have beaten Spain with Roy (We pretty much battered them for most of the game without him anyways), and then it would've been South Korea and we could've beaten them and who knows after that?! Ah, well. Regardless, we and Brazil weren't beaten in 90 mins in the whole tournament. Shout out to Mexico and Holland, who are the only teams to actually beat us in normal time across 3 World Cups.
