Just watched Jamie Carrager give a good analysis on MNF showing how the players weren’t doing the right things in the system early on, focusing on Casimeiro and Johnny Evans mainly but showing how they actually got the hang of it later on and did the right things, showing that the system has the potential to work. It just needs time for the players to get used to the system. The negative reaction to just the first game is a bit silly really.
On the Athletic’s Talk of the Devils podcast with Carl Anka. Ian pointed out that Amorim is expected to do 8 or 9 post match interviews after every Premier League game. Plus press conferences and other non-match related media. It’s an insane requirement and I would back him if he was calling out the ridiculous nature of having to repeat yourself that many times post-match
He has spent more time talking to the press than his players, the press are questioning him about things he wants to do, he should say "You should ask the head coach, I seem to be the Head of PR"
This group of players can give about 20 minutes of concentrated effort. They are so off the pace physically and mentally, it will take Amorim at least 18 months of on pitch work and recruitment to get things going.
Amad is wicked. Bright spark of the season. Such a teeny tiny man, yet a little bruiser. 🔥

Has Rashford lost a couple of yards of pace? I’ve noticed a good bit recently that he can’t accelerate away from defenders
