Lads, this was a rollercoaster. Lost two mates of mine at a young age and when the second passed on, I was very similar to Jay. You've a lot of conflicting feelings going on - sadness, confusion, anger, and a tendency to minimise any negative traits about them. Ultimately, you miss them.
He was a bit of a bastard. But they were your bastard and you loved them.
Reminded me a lot of what those years were like.
How do you carry on and make them proud? Keep doing the things you were good at when they were still around.
