Imagine selling a prolific goal scorer for 55 mil to one team but ask another team for 100 mil for a midfielder that hasn't had nowhere near the same impact as the striker sold. Re managers and 'big.. clubs'..'body of work '...its all very valid...but no one seems to mention Kompany at Bayern, goes from relegation with Burnley into one of the top 5 teams in World football and is doing very well...some people have 'IT' whatever that is im not sure, but its possible Carrick has 'IT' at United...seems to....give him a go!!
It makes sense to make contact with Forest about Anderson. Even if the outcome is City pay more than they would if United weren't interested.
