One of the things I noticed about Ten Hag is that after The Sancho Incident, he never, even veiled, criticised a player again. He just shut his mouth, defended the team, defended results, and never talked about anything behind the scenes.
We don't know why some of those substitutions or starting 11s happened, but there's a LOT of gray area there. We just don't know.
The problem with Ten hag was that when we got him we thought we were getting a technical/tactical genius and at most times we played like the players had no idea what to do when they got the ball and depended too much on individuals to get us off the hook.
