The other thing with Antony and why we were so prone to overpaying for targets is, if our coach wanted a player and it ended up being unfeasible, who was the person trusted to identify another target with similar qualities and profile? I doubt Murtough and the rest of them had any confidence to say here Erik weve got an alternative because Erik is the only guy in the building with any football accumen. Now Erik can put some trust in Ashworth and know other people are also accountable and responsible if the money is spent poorly, its not just everything on the manager to get things right
Yoro is 42mill pounds but media and pundits will use euros and add ons to beat Utd with 70milion pounds for an 18 unproven kid from France.
To play alongside Martinez who is still too short to be a prem cb🤦🏾♂️
Finally coming back as rivals return to hating what we do instead of the sympathy we had under rangnick
Everyone forgets Casemiro was absolutely world class his first season at United, people were calling him the best CDM in the world. Funny how quick the media can turn on a player.
Do any of you's watch taskmaster? Specifically that series with Phil Wang? And he had that running joke where he said he'd haggled for something at a market.. like let's say the currency was dong.. he'd go "the guy at the market said this is 100 dong.. so I said I'll give you 25 dong.. 100 dong.. 50? 100 dong.... so I paid 100 dong for it."
That was unironically ed Woodward's negotiation tactic lmao. How does someone supposedly so good with finance, not understand the value of shopping around a bit? We were so transparent in everything we did and got fucking rinsed every time. Everyone saw us coming from a mile away. We'd walk up to every negotiation with a bag of cash and a dunce hat on every time. So glad we've got actually smart people finally.
Really great episode guys!! you guys never disappoint. It is kind of scary to see United being proactive. But fingers crossed!!
Where is my man Mckola? We need more of his positivity. 😆
