I love how this window is showing that the journalists just throw shit at the wall till something sticks, everyone and their dog knew we needed midfielders, so they link us to everyone under the sun in the hope they get it right and get some form of clout lol not a single one mentioned Santos, or Tielemans, shows they know as much as the rest of us most of the time.
Haven’t heard Wilcox or Berrada say we will get this marquee player. It appears that fans and content creators have assumed that we will get one. It’s the old say it often enough it must be true imo
I am so happy with these two signings following on with the great ones last season. This is a continuation of players wanting to play for our club. This window is exposing players like Fernandez, Tonali, Etc. and what was important to them. We have had enough high priced mercenaries over the last 10 plus seasons. Come on United.
Everyone we've been linked with, we've "missed out on". In hindsight, it seems we drove up the price of our rivals top targets, meanwhile we have signed 2 (nearly 3 players) in dead silence, under the radar and blindsiding everyone. Loving this tactic. Keep talking and connecting ourselves with other teams' targets, so their agents and clubs drive up their prices, meanwhile we keep signing bargain release clause players or players thaat aren't being spoken about. So much silence on Baleba right now, wouldn't be surprised if thats done by the end of the week lol. Glad we didn't pay 85million for another player, the price and weight of the shirt will crush most so smaller fees and less hype results in an easier transition to our great club. Either way, 2 decent signings on good deals has highlighted how shrewd our business has been, carrying on from last season. Good to see.
Luckily the recruitment team signs players they think will offer quality to the squad instead of listening to whiny fans who wants to throw money at certain players (both in transfer fees and salaries) and thereby breaking the current salary structure and limiting how many positions we can strengthen.
It's funny. Most fans complained about the waste of money and salaries the glazers spent on players (and rightly so) and now that INEOS are trying to fix that mess many fans complain that we DON'T throw money at players.
Funny how that works.

Tielemans gives 2-3 years for Fletchers, Thwaites, Orozco, Kone to grow, develop and show what they can do. A great signing, I hope he stays fit!
