Manchester United will be looking to win back-to-back Premier League games when we take on relegation battlers Burnley at Old Trafford in the Saturday afternoon kick-off. The Red Devils climbed back up to sixth in the table after our 4-2 victory over bottom-side Sheffield United on Wednesday evening. While our opponents Burnley were also in action against the Blades last time coming away with a 4-1 win.
United twice had to fight back against Sheffield United as we potentially faced another disastrous result in a season where there have been many others. We managed to come from behind both times to record a 4-2 win at Old Trafford. It was our first win in the Premier League since March 9th, we only had picked three points in the previous four league games before the victory at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Red Devils have reached their successive FA Cup final after the penalty shootout against Coventry City. Erik Ten Hag could deliver a second trophy in as many seasons following on from the League Cup final triumph against Newcastle United last season. It has been a horrid season for United currently lying sixth in the table and 13 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, albeit with a game in hand.
We have been defeated 12 times out of the 33 league games this season and could face playing in the Conference League or not playing in Europe at all next season. United could make it successive league victories since the middle of February as we face Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion in our final four league games before the FA Cup final showdown against our rivals Manchester City.
Our form at Old Trafford has seen us win nine out of the sixteen league games but have been beaten five times too. Burnley has performed better away from home claiming 13 of their 23 points on their travels this season.
Manchester United Team News
United will be hoping that Mason Mount, who has missed the last two games due to an unspecified issue, will be back in the match-day squad, however, the Red Devils still have a mounting injury crisis to contend with. Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Raphael Varane, Marcus Rashford, and Willy Kambwala are all set to miss out once again.
This will see Casemiro continue in the heart of the defence alongside Harry Maguire. Scott McTominay could potentially come back into the midfield ahead of Christian Eriksen. Amad Diallo who replaced Antony during the second half against Sheffield United could be in line for a place in the starting eleven.
Manchester United Possible Lineup
Onana;
Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Maguire, Dalot;
Mainoo, McTominay;
Amad, Fernandes, Garnacho;
Hojlund.
Opposition Preview
Burnley will make the trip to Old Trafford in a buoyant mood after their 4-1 win against Sheffield United last weekend as they put in a superb attacking performance. They have only lost one of their last seven league games picking up two wins giving them a fighting chance to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The Clarets sit 19th in the table with 23 points and are only three points behind 17th placed Nottingham Forest.
After Saturday, they will face Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the next two fixtures before taking on Nottingham Forest in the final league game of the season that will decide both club’s fate. Luton Town is looking to stay up in the division too as it is set to be an interesting battle towards the end of the season.
The Clarets have only won twice against United in Premier League history with the last success coming back in 2020 when they ran out 2-0 winners. The Red Devils have won the last five of the six meetings including a 1-0 win at Turf Moor.
Burnley Team News
For our opponents, Aaron Ramsey, Jordan Beyer, Nathan Redmond, Ameen Al-Dakhil, and Luca Koleosho will be unavailable for the trip to Old Trafford. Burnley did not pick up any fresh injury problems from their last fixture against Sheffield United. Manager Vincent Kompany could elect to name the same starting eleven. Josh Brownhill and Johan Berg Gudmundsson made positive impacts from the bench last time out at Brammall Lane but both are set to remain on the bench for this fixture.

Prediction
You never know which United side you will get at the moment; this could be another tricky fixture. Burnley is fighting to stay up but the Red Devils should have more than enough to come through and hopefully get another three points at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United 3-1 Burnley
