Manchester United Women head into Sunday afternoon’s game away to Everton looking to remain unbeaten since the start of the season. Our opponents have started the Women’s Super League well and are only three points behind us in the table.
The Reds are currently level on points with the same goal difference as league leaders Arsenal. Our start to the season should not be a surprise to anyone given how well we performed last season.
United missed out on achieving Champions League qualification on the final day of last season to our rivals Manchester City. Since then, we regrouped and added a number of additions to the squad to show our intent for the season ahead.
Our record this season has been impressive winning all four games with a strong defence to boost having not conceded so far in the league.
We come into Sunday’s game off the back of our 1-0 win against relegation battlers Leicester City last weekend. Whilst not a vintage performance by United, it shows we can win ugly as Nikita Parris header secured all three points.
The Reds did suffer disappointment on Wednesday when we drew 2-2 away to Durham in the League Cup and subsequently lost in the penalty shootout to not claim the bonus point.
Since achieving promotion to the Women’s Super League, United have won five of the six meetings against Everton, and drawing the other one.

Goalkeeper Mary Earps will want to maintain her good form between the sticks as she is yet to concede a goal.

Everton Women have a enjoyed a good start to their league campaign as they are expecting to be competing in the top half of the table this season.
The Toffees have claimed nine points out of 15 from their first five games. They currently sit fourth after last weekend’s victory over Aston Villa.
Whilst they may not be challenging for a Champions League spot, Everton will want to be as high as possible and a good defence will enhance this. Only United and Arsenal have conceded less this season.
However, this record is under threat this weekend given the Reds impressive performances over Everton in the last few seasons.
