Manchester United Women have announced that attacking midfielder Ella Toone has committed her future to the club by signing a contract extension. This will see her stay with the Red Devils until the 2025/26 season ends. Toone was already on a long-term deal until 2025 that was signed back in November last year but since has hit new heights for both club and country, as she played a starring role in England women winning Euro 2022.
Toone arrived at United in 2018 when the women’s team was reformed and went on to win the FA Women’s Championship in our first season. She had previously spent six years in the club’s youth system. The attacking midfielder is our all-time leading scorer with 43 goals and has made 110 appearances so far for the club.
On the international front, Toone scored the opening goal in the European Championship final where England beat Germany 2-1 in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley. Toone has expressed her delight in extending her stay.
“I’m delighted to sign a new contract at Manchester United. The club’s ambitions really match mine and there’s nowhere better for me to learn. To play for my childhood club I support is really special and I’ll never get tired of pulling on the red shirt. To now be able to do that for even longer is a proud moment for me and my family.”

The contract extension is the first to be done with Manchester United’s new Head of Women’s Football, Polly Bancroft. She echoed the manager’s thoughts and said it shows the intent of United to progress.
