He was a necessary step instead of papering over the cracks with Conte

Definitely not a failure but someone who has asked questions about the running of the club. This failure agenda is unfortunately run by the media and ex players. I like Ralph’s straight talking and I hope he remains part of our future. Ralph has been let down by players and handicapped by the loss of Martial Cavani Greenwood and the ineffective Rashford add to that no CDM. I hope we fans who love Utd take the media and ex players to task.

I think when Ralf was brought in it was expected McKenna and Carrick would stay on as coaches. My understanding is that it wasn't planned they'd leave. Obviously they were associated with the "failed" regime with Ole, but I think the idea was to keep them at the club to work under Ralf and it all just fell apart when they left.

I have no regrets. He has shone a torch on so much crap that it feels like he was essential. His very appointment was a cultural shift for Utd to look long term. I couldn't care less if we finish out of the top four this year. I want to see us compete for the title and Champions League and a massive shift was needed, I think we are finally getting it and Ralf has played his part.

looking back with hindsight and saying Ralf wasn't a huge success as a manager so what we should have done is give it to Carrick instead is Ed Woodward logic.

No Ralph hasn't been a failure. The players have failed him by not adhering to the system of play he wanted them to. Playing high lines when that isn't the game plan set springs to mind more recently. These players are a disgrace

Have to disagree with jay, Micheal Carrick didn’t turn anything around that’s revisionism based on the results. Ragnick inherited a mess. lost most of his goal scoring forward apart from Ronaldo, Rashford has been useless all throughout the season, Fred/ Mctominay injured, lot of the player leaving at the end of the season. It’s just a mess, he didn’t work miracles but he didn’t underachieve with the cards he was felt either.

I have no problem with Ralf Rangnick, it was obvious to me before Ole was sacked that this team couldn't be arsed anymore.

Did I have any expectations of the team achieving anything when Rangnick took over? No
    Did they achieve anything? No

So for me, no he hasn't failed.

jay fails to see that any interim manager wouldn’t have commanded respect in 6 months
