I’d love for ETH to miraculously find some form (players returning will help) but honestly think with the way Jim and Ineos r cleaning house, it’s only a matter of time b4 he’s sacked.
I hope at least in that case they have an idea who theyr going to replace him with and not another interim period followed by whoever is available
If anything, this gives me more confidence EtH will be kept. Firstly, a few years ago when Pep was rumored to be retiring, City were said to be looking at EtH as his successor, so they definitely will think he is a good enough coach. Secondly, Omar will know what a mess United is. If anything he'll probably come in knowing how City operate and be absolutely amazed at the conditions United managers are expected to work in lol. I wouldn't be surprised if EtH was the last position they consider, and only once they've improved everything else, they'll think about EtH and if he's the best fit.
It cant be a coincide that weve had the same issues under multiple managers. Ole and jose especially. And a lot of players from those eras are still here. Imo while its harsh to blame eth, that doesnt matter to most fans for some reason. We keep making the same mistakes. First season we do ok, people overestimate how good our players are, people think we can challenge for a league, we dont, we do worse than expected, sack the manager. Literally the same players each time as well
Id love for INEOS to back him but if they think someone else will do better than theyll sack him which is unfortunate. I think eth is a very good manager.
I am a huge ETH fan and wanted him here before Ajax peferomances in CL semi final.
Saying that, I know we had a lot of injuries and other complications greenwood, sancho, antony, etc...
But the results have been not good enought, the worst part has been performances for me though.
I understand when some people will say that it looks like ETH has lost faith in some of the squad and the other way round.
The issue is the tactics have been very predictable and very defensive and have been like it 90% of the time.
It is understandable if we have less possesion than other top teams but we can not have less of the ball than the teams in bottom half even under Jose the football was not this bad.
I hope with all my heart that now with most of his favourite 11 we will find form and play much better football.
But in all honesty his future is hanging by a thread, I fear.
