SAF had Robson, Choccy, Sharpe, Pallister, Bruce, Ince and Hughes in 1989, and yet they still got thumped 5-1 by City, and it was the era of "Ta Ra Fergie" on a bedsheet.
I don't see the same potential in ETH's signings (so far), but patience with SAF and that group led to a title 3 seasons later.
The injuries, outside pressure and deadwood in that squad have made this season a misery, but no one individual can turn this around overnight.
The over paying transfer fees AND wages for players over 10 years is unforgivable...started by Woodward & Judge & continued by Arnold & Murtough.
Every window inc Moyes showed no strategy, no manager profile & tactical setup from academy right through the entire clubs playing squads inc the 1st team, no player profiles for each position, no age category breakdown per shortlist for each position, no negotiation expertise, no continuous review of player profiles or synced up to the scouting network, no effective scouting network, no CEO/DoF relationships/network with all top & development leagues in world football, no influence, no charisma, no football knowledge.
No review or improvement to infrastructure, sports science, analysts, nutritionists, psychologists, no continuous review & remedial work to the stadium... etc etc etc....Whilst 50% of the actual day to day failing is on woodward/judge et al....The Glazers take 50% for not identifying & rectifying the urgent issues apparent immediately after the Moyes summer window. They let it continue...is that blind ignorance about football itself? or is that simply an owner who only ever saw utd as a cash generating machine??. The evidence seems to say the latter!
You look at the Moyes window...we were in for Fabregas...spent all summer 'trying'...then on deadline day sign Fellani for 4m MORE than his release clause in July of that year. Also Vidic, Evra were allowed to leave.
Under every manager each window has clearly demonstrated all the failures above, compounded window after window!
The negligence & reckless nature of cannibalising the entire footballing arm of the club & its legacy is eye wateringly monumental!!
I’m ten hag in. If it means a complete clear out, im ok with it. And he needs to be backed with a proper structure behind him; nobody can succeed in this environment; its been proven by highly competent, highly accomplished and experienced managers already
With the players available I would accept a 2-0 or 3-1 defeat. Once it's not a hammering

I get Kane wouldve been a great signing but he would of been deprived of any chance.
Our wingers are awful. Antony garnacho and rashford never put a decent cross in. I'm sick of it.
