Personally do not see much credibility in these recent articles with Haaland , believe Erling's clause does not become active until 2021 or 2022 (consensus seems to be 2021) which makes sense. Agreeing to the release clause is one thing and we were not willing to do that but Dortmund having done so , it is much more plausible that does not take effect until 2021. Why would they agree to conditions where they could lose Haaland only a few months after signing him ? I just do not see it. Journo's seem to be jumping the gun with this one , seems more a conversation to be had in a year's time if the reports are true that the clause is not active in 2020.
And if that is true , Dortmund are not sanctioning his release early before they have to , especially facing the very real prospect of losing Sancho in the next transfer window. And for me I do not want Haaland , looks to be one of the best strikers in his age group who could become one of the best in the sport in short order but Raiola is connected to him so that means the player will always be eyeing up his next transfer. Haaland even recently admitted he admires Zlatan's career path of often moving clubs and having success in numerous leagues. Just do not think he is the right fit for us even when he actually is available.
